Mayor and City Council Inauguration Taking Place on Sunday, May 1

WHAT:
The public and media are welcome and encouraged to attend the inauguration of the Naperville Mayor and new City Council members. Newcomers Steve Chirico and Joseph J. McElroy, along with re-elected incumbents Mayor A. George Pradel and Councilman Grant Wehrli, will be sworn in during the ceremony. Re-elected incumbent Councilman Robert Fieseler will be unable to attend the inauguration and will be sworn in prior to the Tuesday, May 3 City Council meeting.
Mayor Pradel is the longest serving Mayor in the city's history, winning an unprecedented fifth term in office in the 2011 consolidated election. Robert Fieseler has served on the City Council since 2007 and Grant Wehrli has served since 2005. Mayor Pradel and the newly elected councilmen will join current Council members Judith Brodhead, Paul Hinterlong, Douglas Krause and Kenn Miller on the Council.
The inauguration will be broadcast live on the city's government access channel, WCNC (Channel 6 – WOW, Channel 10 – Comcast and Channel 99 – AT&T) and re-broadcast throughout the coming months. The event will also be available to view live and on-demand online at www.naperville.il.us/granicus.html.
