Woman hit by truck at Abbott sues
A Lindenhurst woman injured after she was struck by a truck on Abbott Laboratories property in North Chicago is suing the pharmaceutical giant.
Shannon Rosberg, 31, suffered injuries to her pelvis, ribs and internal organs when she was hit twice by the truck, according to her lawyers.
A spokeswoman for Salvi, Schostok and Pritchard in Waukegan said Rosberg was hit by the truck during the early morning hours of April 6 as she was walking into a building at Abbott Park.
The law firm said Rosberg, an employee of Collins Consulting, was first hit by the truck when it backed over her, then was hit again when the driver pulled forward.
The spokeswoman said Rosberg, who was at Abbott to teach employees how to use social media, remains in the intensive care unit at Advocate Condell Memorial Hospital in Libertyville but is expected to survive.
An Abbott spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
The suit was filed April 25 in Cook County Circuit Court and seeks an unspecified amount of damages.
