Village of Lombard Plans Arbor Day Celebration
Twenty-five members of the school's conservation club will help commemorate Arbor Day with a visit to the retention pond at Parker & Kaplan where 29 trees are scheduled to be planted May 2-4.
According to Lombard Forester Steve Kremske, the trees to be planted include the following species: Ivory Silk lilac tree, Autumn Blaze Freeman maple, Blue beech, Heritage river birch, European beech, Norwegian Sunset maple, Autumn Brilliance serviceberry and Miyabei maple. “These will provide a good mix of spring flowers and fall color,” said Kremske.
Lombard has been celebrating Arbor Day for the past 21 years, as long as it has been recognized as a Tree City USA.
