Trump’s 15 political minutes are up

It seems that I can’t turn on a television set anymore without seeing the smirking face of business tycoon and TV host Donald Trump.

The Donald is a colorful character who has adopted the birther issue surrounding President Obama as his cause celebre while he decides whether he wants to give up a seat in his boardroom for one in the Oval Office. He appears to enjoy the media spotlight and races faster to an interview than the Rev. Jesse Jackson used to do.

The opportunistic Donald has filled the vacuum created by this slow starting election cycle with his celebrity and caustic comments. The biased media want to portray him as the candidate who best represents the momentum of the tea party. Donald is faring well in the early polling data before we know who will be in the presidential field.

Thanks, Mr. Trump, for the entertaining sideshow. Now step aside with your presidential ego, go comb your hair and let the prime time acts take the stage.
