Quentin Road Christian School has a Pizza Blast with fundraiser

Hungry diners took down 240 pan-sized pizzas made by high school students from Quentin Road Christian School as part of the Lake Zurich school’s 27th annual Pizza Blast fundraiser April 15 and 16.

More than 1,800 people ate the award-winning 18-by-26-inch pizzas, which are made using 475 pounds of mozzarella cheese, 22 pounds of pepperoni and 50 pounds of sausage.

The fundraiser earned a record $29,317 through the schoolwide efforts of students at all grade levels selling tickets for the event. The funds will help purchase science and sports equipment, and fund locker-room renovation, books and field trips.

In celebration of the fundraiser’s success, a 100-foot-long banana split was served to students Monday, April 25. Menards supplied the 100-foot gutter for the sundae “bowl.”
