Higher income tax only hurting Illinois

Gov. Quinn sent all of us a clear message with his recent tax hike. He wants us to clean up the mess he and his mops in Springfield created. The Illinois Policy Institute figured that a family of four that makes an income of $80,000 (if there is anyone left who still lives and works in Illinois) will pay about $1,480 more in taxes per year. Guess what you could do with $1,480?

You could feed your family for 10 weeks. You could clothe two kids for nearly two years. You could heat your home for two and a half years. You could ride public transportation for about a year and a half. You could fill your car with gas more than 25 times. (Soon it will be less thanks to the mops in Washington.) You could pay your phone bill for more that two years.

Let’s get rid of this tax and move Illinois from 47th place in economic outlook to first place.
