New program in District 46

Grayslake Elementary District 46 will offer a new program for the 2011-12 academic year for parents interested in enrolling their 3- and 4-year-olds in the system’s new preschool program. The opportunity is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Officials said some openings for a noon-to-2:30 p.m. session remain. Students in the new program will be integrated with an existing program available for early childhood special education. Classes will be at Prairieview School in Hainesville and use research-based creative curriculum, which allows for structured interest-area playtime, gross motor time, large- and small-group time and snack time. Cost will be $250 per month for 10 months. Call the preschool office for more information at (847) 543-6204.
