Elk Grove Lions to do free hearing tests

Are you one of Illinois’ estimated 720,000 hearing-impaired people? Hearing loss is probably the single most chronic disability in the United States, affecting nearly four times as many as blindness.

The Elk Grove Lions Club will sponsor a free hearing screening from 9 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, May 10 in the parking lot of the Pavilion Fitness Center, Wellington & Biesterfield.

Everyone is urged to take advantage of this screening. There is no charge. An adult must accompany persons under 18. No preregistration is required. You do not need to be an Elk Grove Village resident.

The Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions are also involved in a variety of other activities to improve their communities and help people in need, such as assisting the hearing-impaired, providing diabetes awareness and education materials, working on environmental projects and developing youth programs.
