Tea party not serious about cutting spending
The HR 1 “Ryan bill” (named after this far-right tea party member) is the slash and burn everything Democrats and independents have tried to do over the past two years document. The tea party — which is not a party at all, just a new name for the old far-right Republicans like Christian Coalition, Moral Majority, etc. — is hard at work, and they care only about themselves, not America.
If this tea party bill (HR 1) were to become law it would cost an estimated 700,000 American jobs. Tea party people want these jobs lost before the November 2012 elections, so they can again attack President Obama for not being able to fix George Bush’s economic disaster plus two wars all in his first four years.
If cutting government spending were really what the tea party is all about, why do they refuse to accept any cuts in the military or farm subsidies? The U.S. spends more money on our military than all of the next 10 highest spending (for their militaries) nations combined. There is a very expensive military contract for a jet engine that is not needed and our military says it does not want. Ask House Speaker Boehner why we waste money making these engines. Is it because they are made in his district, and he’s bringing home a big chunk of “pork”?
By the time the Bush tax cuts to the richest 2 percent of Americans (supposedly) ends in 2013, these tax cuts will have cost our federal government almost $1 trillion. It’s estimated at $204 billion now, but the rich are getting richer and skipping those old repealed taxes every year. Large corporations and rich men’s “government welfare” is rampant.
