Who’s representing the common folk?
I have not written to Fence Post in a very long time but decided that this issue was too important for me to remain mute. I have watched the news coverage of Mr. Quinn, our dubious governor who has sold his credibility on numerous issues including his early release of prisoners and denial of his involvement, his commitment to unions to preserve their members’ jobs and salaries for the next two years regardless if the state can afford it or not, and the 67 percent income tax increase he crammed down our throats after proposing a smaller one. He is simply mendacious and lacks any plausible credibility.
My question is, if this so-called governor has been bought lock stock and barrel by the unions, special interests and his political party (very typical for any Illinois politician), then who is representing us common folks here in this disgustingly corrupt state?
I’m sure I am not the only one who would like to hear from anyone who is credible and honest. I will assume that this is far too much to expect from a state that could care less about the majority of its citizens and has already proved that by the mess the legislature has created over a decade of fiscal neglect and political abuse.
If doctors, lawyers and many other professionals can be held responsible for their actions (that’s why they purchase malpractice insurance), why can’t politicians be held responsible for their actions? Oh, that’s right, they passed laws to prevent that. Go figure.
