We need oil, not quips
The local news has just informed me that gas prices in the Chicago area may top $5 per gallon and the Saudi government is floating the idea of $200 to $300 a barrel for oil (if unrest occurs — a very real possibility).
What is the response from Washington? “Buy a Volt,” a comment much akin to the historic response of Marie Antoinette to a bread shortage in the general population of France (with presumably greatly inflated prices), “Let them eat cake.”
Mr. Obama, members of Congress, your constituents need relief, not off-the-cuff quips; how about taking a look at the ocean of oil lying under the U. S.?
