Palatine wins Glenbrook South tournament

Palatine defeated three teams and tied tournament host Glenbrook South to claim the overall tourney title in boys water polo Saturday.

The Pirates (18-2) topped Naperville North 8-7, Evanston 19-9 and Lake Forest 15-6; Palatine tied Glenbrook South 9-9.

Kamil Mulawa led Palatine in scoring against Evanston (8 goals) and Glenbrook South (4 goals); Justin Behrens had team-highs of 6 goals against Lake Forest and 4 against Naperville North.

Standout senior goalie Dan Sommerfeld netted tournament MVP honors. He stopped 15 shots against Naperville North, 10 against Lake Forest and 9 against Glenbrook South.
