Judson splits with Parkside
The Judson University softball team won its 29th game of the season Friday when it split a road doubleheader at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Eagles knocked off the Rangers 5-4 in Game 1 before Parkside came back to win the nightcap 11-2.
Haley Secor popped her first home run of the year, a 3-run shot in the fourth inning, to lead the Eagles to the Game 1 win.
Concetta Lampugnano, Allison Catlett, Nicole Dimiceli, Brittany Holm, Erin Stankus, Secor, Hallie Niewold, and Kristen Krueger each had hits in the win for Judson. Sarah Boyer went the distance for her ninth win of the year and recorded 5 strikeouts.
Wisconsin-Parkside then scored in every inning of Game 2. Katie Talbot suffered the loss for Judson (29-13). Lampugnano went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Secor drove in a run.
Burlington Central graduate Christine Holthus, a senior at Parkside, was 2-for-2 with a double, 3 runs scored and an RBI in Game 2.
Judson will host Trinity International University in a CCAC doubleheader at 5 p.m. on Monday, which will also be Judson’s Senior Day.
