All Greener Business Matching Grant Funds awarded

Revolving Loan Funds Still Available For Energy Efficiency Improvements

The City of Naperville is pleased to announce that all funds allocated to the Greener Business Matching Grant Fund have been awarded. The program provides financial assistance to business owners interested in making their buildings more energy efficient by awarding matching funds at a rate of $.50 for every $1 spent towards energy efficiency improvements, up to $10,000 per building.

The city has awarded approximately $283,000 to 30 businesses, religious institutions and multi-family complexes through the program, with the program spurring more than $900,000 worth of investment in energy efficient improvements to existing buildings located in Naperville. While the city will no longer be accepting new applications for the Greener Business Matching Grant Fund, please visit www.naperville.il.us/greenerbusiness.aspx for future updates on this program. In the event that all awarded funds have not been spent by the grant recipients, additional funds may be available in 2012.

Funds are still remaining through the Greener Business Revolving Loan Fund in which qualified businesses may apply to receive a loan of up to a $25,000 for energy efficiency improvements. Applications for the Greener Business Revolving Loan Fund are now available online and in the City Manager's Office, located on the second floor of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. The Greener Business Program was created in 2009 using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds. The goal of the Greener Business Program is to assist qualifying owners and operators of Naperville businesses and multi-family buildings complete energy efficiency retrofit projects that reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency.
