Info meeting for contractors, developers April 29

LOMBARD, Illinois—Contractors and developers conducting business in Lombard are invited to an informational meeting on April 29 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Village Hall.

The purpose of the meeting is to review a myriad of changes that have occurred in the past several months regarding building codes and the administrative processes required of contractors and developers doing business in Lombard.

The changes to be reviewed include:

• The 2008 National Electrical Code

• The 2009 International Building Code Amendments

• The 2009 International Fire Code Amendments

• Illinois Plumbing Code Amendments

• State Energy Efficiency Provisions

• Inspection Provisions for “Bowstring Trusses” and Elevated Parking Structures

• Hazmat Permitting and Inspection Process

• Overtime Inspection Program

• Contractor Registration Requirements

• Elimination of Bond Requirements for Selected Projects; and

• Introduction of Express Permits
