NU QB trio battle

Redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Siemian threw 2 touchdown passes during Northwestern’s scrimmage Saturday at Ryan Field that wrapped up spring practice.Sophomore quarterback Evan Watkins added a touchdown pass and sophomore quarterback Kain Colter rushed for a score as the trio continued their battle for the right to be Dan Persa#146;s backup this fall.Persa, who#146;s still recovering from a ruptured Achilles#146; tendon, was one of at least 11 projected starters to sit out the scrimmage. Walk-on junior Tyris Jones led the running backs with 30 yards in 6 carries.
