Six people charged in Gurnee burglaries
Six individuals have been arrested and charged for their roles in at least four residential burglaries in Gurnee that occurred in late March and early April, police announced Friday. A joint effort of Gurnee detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division led to the arrests of the six suspects for the Gurnee burglaries and other burglaries in the county.
Evan Crews, 21, of Beach Park, and Jordan Gauze, 19, of Winthrop Harbor, were charged with three counts of residential burglary for their roles in burglaries in the 2500 block of Hastings Lane on March 20, the 1100 block of Sumner Circle and the 6600 block of Foxworth Lane on April 4, police said.
Quincy Adams, 20, of Zion; Elizabeth Berry, 19, of Waukegan; Damian Johnson, 21, of Beach Park; and Brandon Smith, 25, of Zion were charged with one count of residential burglary for their roles in the burglary to a home in the 500 block of Kingsport Drive on April 9, police said.
“The arrest of these individuals is an example of very good police work and cooperation among Lake County law enforcement agencies,” Police Chief Robert Jones said.
