Crash brings I-90 traffic to a crawl

Rush-hour traffic is crawling through the area around the Des Plaines oasis on westbound Interstate 90 due to a three-vehicle crash.

The collision, which occurred about 3:20 p.m. today, involved a semitrailer truck, a pickup truck and a red Pontiac G6 sedan, according to Sgt. Julio Serrano of the Illinois State Police.

Two left lanes and the shoulder were initially blocked, but the middle lane had reopened by 4:30 p.m., with cars coming through slowly, Serrano said.

There were believed to be minor injuries, but it was unclear if anyone had been taken to hospitals, he said.
