North Chicago group fights bullying
In light of the number of cases of children being bullied, The Exchange Club of North Chicago hosted an essay writing competition for North Chicago School District 187 students in 5th and 6th grades. Principles were encouraged to select students from their schools who not only displayed good character, but those who may have presented a social challenge for themselves or their fellow classmates. A total of 19 students were chosen to receive a special award including one special education student. The award ceremony will take place during the school board meeting at North Chicago High School, located at 1717 17th St. North Chicago IL, on Thursday, April 21, at 7 p.m. This event is free and all are welcome.
