The Forest Preserve District of Cook County invites the public to celebrate and explore the Earth with activities, crafts and displays Sunday at Crabtree Nature Center’s Earth Day 2011 Celebration.

The event takes place from noon until 4 p.m. at the nature center, located at 3 Stover Road in Barrington, off Palatine Road and one mile west of Barrington Road.

Highlights of the day will include: Cabela’s Outfitters showing participants how to cast for fishing; L.L. Bean giving free, on-site spring bike tuneups; and participants walking the Green Trail and learning how recycling works.
