Anthropologist to study bones found under home
CAVE-IN-ROCK — Investigators trying to identify human bones found under a southern Illinois home being renovated are sending the remains to an Illinois state anthropologist for review.
Hardin County Sheriff Lloyd Cullison tells the Harrisburg Daily Register that the remains found April 10 near Cave-In-Rock include two teeth, gum lines and nine other bones.
Cullison says it's unclear how old the bones may be.
Authorities in Kentucky's Marion County have inquired about them, given a possibly unsolved missing-person case that points to Cave-In-Rock.
Cullison says a man who bought the Cave-In-Rock house found the bones while tearing out the floor to remodel the structure.
