New alderman hopes to make difference

Following four months of local campaigns, Geneva voters went to the polls April 5. My thanks to all those who voted. What a valuable right ... the right to vote that many of you exercised.

I also want to thank the efforts of my wife, family and friends in my successful election as 3rd Ward Alderman.

Congratulations to Becky Hruby, my opponent, on a positive campaign and for her passion to run and willingness to give of her time and talent to the community. I hope she stays involved and looks for other opportunities to serve our community in the future. My kudos also to Ray Pawlak and his family for his 16 years of dedicated service as a Geneva alderman.

Finally, as we look to the future we need to effectively weather the economic downturn while planning and laying the necessary groundwork to take full advantage of the economic recovery when things improve. As your alderman-elect, I plan to listen, learn and hopefully contribute in some small way. I am optimistic about the future of our community and look forward to serving you in this important role.
