Mayor, city council inauguration to be May 1
City of Naperville Welcomes Newcomers Steve Chirico and Joseph J. McElroy and Congratulates Incumbents Mayor A. George Pradel and Councilmen Robert Fieseler and Grant Wehrli
Inauguration of the Mayor and new City Council members will take place on Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. in Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this event.
Newcomers Steve Chirico and Joseph J. McElroy, along with re-elected incumbents Mayor A. George Pradel, Councilman Robert Fieseler and Councilman Grant Wehrli, will be sworn in during the ceremony.
Mayor Pradel is the longest serving Mayor in the city's history, winning an unprecedented fifth term in office in the 2011 consolidated election. He was first elected in 1995 following almost three decades of service in the Naperville Police Department.
Robert Fieseler has served on the City Council since 2007 and Grant Wehrli has served since 2005.
Mayor Pradel and the newly elected councilmen will join current Council members Judith Brodhead, Paul Hinterlong, Douglas Krause and Kenn Miller on the Council. In the 2011 consolidated election, four City Council positions and the term for Mayor were up for election.
The inauguration will be broadcast live on the city's government access channel, WCNC (Channel 6 – WOW, Channel 10 – Comcast and Channel 99 – AT&T) and re-broadcast throughout the coming months.
