Chippewa School recycling club wins 2nd in statewide contest

Chippewa School's Recycling Club can be proud in knowing they really are making a difference in helping save the planet.

The Bensenville school won second place in the entire state in “America Recycles Contest,” sponsored by USAgain paper recycling company.

Chippewa's Recycling Club, a group of about 25 students, meet twice a month to collect Chippewa's recyclable paper goods. Ms. Julia Larsen and Ms. Heidi Allen sponsor the club.

USAgain presented Chippewa School with a $250 check for their efforts, which will be put to use in the student activity fund.

The Recycling Club is also coordinating an event in conjunction with Earth Day. The entire school will participate in a "Campus Clean Up" on Thursday, April 21.

Each class will go outside to clean up a portion of the campus and make our grounds beautiful.

Chippewa students are growing into responsible and respectful citizens of the earth, thanks to the Recycling Club. Congratulations students!
