No-mail Saturdays bad for carriers
Many residents get their mail late in the day, with Mondays being worse because the carriers must deliver two days’ worth of mail. The situation is even worse after a three-day holiday.
If Saturday deliveries are eliminated, carriers will be required to deliver three days of mail on Mondays, and four days of mail following three day holidays. Carriers will have the same amount of mail to deliver, but fewer days in which to do it. Eliminating Saturday deliveries will be bad for both the carriers and the residents. Let’s hope it remains merely a threat, and not a reality.
