End funding to Planned Parenthood
Sarah Williams, a clinician at Planned Parenthood in Aurora, wants taxpayers to continue to hand millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood for so-called comprehensive care. But research into Planned Parenthood’s services and philosophy reveals that their sole objective is to facilitate sexual activity apart from personal responsibility and traditional marriage. Planned Parenthood’s 2009 budget was over $1.1 billion, one-third of which came from the U.S. taxpayer. And their annual report showed a surplus of over $63 million.
Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest provider of abortions, performing over 27 percent of all the abortions in the country. And abortion is the organization’s biggest moneymaker, bringing in more than $150 million. Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director who changed her mind and now speaks out against Planned Parenthood, reports in her 2010 book “UnPlanned” that she and other Planned Parenthood directors were told to increase the numbers of abortions at their clinics in order to increase revenue.
Planned Parenthood promotes an amoral, if not just plain immoral, lifestyle. A quick look at their teen website will disgust the average person. We, the taxpayer, should not be expected to fund any portion of Planned Parenthood’s agenda. Urge your congressmen and senators to vote “Yes” on the Pence amendment to defund Planned Parenthood.
