Open burn may be cause of Naperville fire
Naperville fire investigators think a Naperville barn fire may have been caused by a homeowner’s controlled “open burn” Monday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 10826 Book Road in southwestern Naperville just before 3 p.m. and cleared the scene about 40 minutes later, officials said.
Fire officials said there was nothing inside the barn when the fire broke out and the flames did not spread to the nearby house.
A damage estimate was not available Monday.
Plainfield Fire Protection District firefighters assisted Naperville crews.
