Madigan, Cullerton must cut budget
I heard a commentator admonish the Democrats in Illinois to go to Wisconsin or Indiana if they don’t like it in Illinois. This is about the attitude of a radio personality locally who says that manufacturing companies should take a look at Illinois if they don’t like the cost of doing business where they are.
The state of Illinois is looking at their deficit as if it isn’t there. We are, as a country, accumulating debt at the rate of $1.6 trillion a year. That amounts of $4.5 billion a day as a country. Apparently this has occurred to Caterpillar.
This means we need to cut our budget plans by this amount just to stay even with whatever our current expenditures are. We simply must reduce our budgetary expenses across the board to do our part.
The state of Illinois is controlled by House Speaker Mike Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton. We must write to them to tell them specifically what they must do. They can only do their part, but they can and must lead by example. Leadership by example cannot be dismissed as being unimportant.
