Palatine man sentenced to 6 years for molesting a child

A Cook County judge sentenced a Palatine man to six years in prison this week after the man admitted to sexually molesting a minor child.

Concepción Gomez Torres, 27, received the minimum sentence in exchange for pleading guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault, a class X felony punishable by six to 30 years in prison.

Authorities say Gomez Torres has no criminal background. He received credit for the 314 days he has been in custody since his arrest last May.
