Elmhurst museum plans Art in the Park

Artists will be displaying a variety of their works when Elmhurst Art Museum sponsors its 15th annual art show April 30 and May 1 on the grounds of the museum and Wilder Park, near the city’s downtown.

Art in the Park: A Juried Show of Fine Art, Craft and Design will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and will feature handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, photography, sculpture, furniture, glass, fiber work and paintings. Most of the works will be for sale.

The fair will feature live entertainment and food throughout its run and family activities will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

The museum will be open free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all weekend.

New exhibitions will include Robert Hudson: Between the Lines, large sculptures that layer unexpected materials with reference to Picasso’s cubist mannerisms, Rauschenberg’s aggressive collages and the bright primary color palette of Miro and Mondrian. There also will be an exhibition of work by high school seniors, as well as highlights from the museum’s own collection.
