Drew French and Sam Komel combined to give Kaneland (3-4) a 4-1 victory at Rockton-Hononegah (4-1) on Thursday.
Kyle Davidson supplied the Knights’ only 2 hits with a double and single. French pitched the first 5 1/3 innings before Komel allowed no hits over the final 1 1/3.
Batavia 6, East Aurora 0: Michael Rutas improved to 2-0 in the Bulldogs’ win in Aurora.
The Bulldogs scored in every inning except the first and fifth. Braden Hrack, Andrew Scaccia and Steve Durham all hit doubles as part of Batavia’s 11-hit attack.
Batavia stole 4 bases while scoring 2 runs in the third including Danny Seiton’s steal of home.
Yorkville 9, West Aurora 8: Down 9-4 in the bottom of the seventh, West Aurora (3-3) rallied for 4 runs but it wasn’t enough to beat the Foxes (5-2).
St. Charles North 4, Lake Park 2: The North Stars (6-3, 2-0) broke a 2-2 tie with 2 runs in the seventh after the Lancers had tied the game with 2 runs in the sixth.
Loynachan pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing just 1 hit but walking five. Jones allowed a pair of unearned runs in 2 innings.
Jake Bergren and Andrew Elliot both drove in 2 runs for the North Stars who were held to 4 hits.

Chris Simon did the honors this time going 7 innings and allowing 2 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks.
