Weiland Road study topic of meeting in Buffalo Grove
Buffalo Grove residents can review and comment on a study of Weiland, Prairie and Lake-Cook road improvements at a meeting from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the village hall, 50 Raupp Blvd., Buffalo Grove.
The village is cooperating with the Lake County Division of Transportation, the Cook County Highway Department and the Illinois Department of Transportation to perform the Preliminary Engineering Study for Weiland Road/Prairie Road from Lake-Cook Road to Route 22 in Lake County, and for Lake-Cook Road from Buffalo Grove Road to Hastings Lane, in addition to an extension of Weiland Road to Buffalo Grove Road in Cook County.
The meeting will focus on the Weiland Road and Prairie Road portions of the study area. The objectives of the meeting are:
Ÿ Review comments received at the Dec. 15 public information meeting.
Ÿ Present plans for additional traffic and pedestrian studies.
Ÿ Gather input on the locations and times of greatest pedestrian activity.
Ÿ Review need for and features of highway noise mitigation measures.
Ÿ Review process for deciding whether and where to include noise mitigation.
A Weiland Road/Lake-Cook Road project status report will be presented to the village board at its Monday, April 25, meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m.
