Lake County Housing Authority gets grant
Lake County Housing Authority has secured a $153,561 grant from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department to link low-income families with the necessary education and job training to put them on the path to self-sufficiency. “Together with your input, involvement and commitment, we have the capacity to make a difference, to have a significant impact on the quality of life of the greater Lake County community. This award helps make that possible,” housing authority Executive Director David Northern said. Officials said the grant allows the Lake County Housing Authority to work with welfare agencies, schools, businesses and other local partners to develop a comprehensive program to help individuals already participating in HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher Program increase their education or gain marketable skills that will enable them to obtain jobs paying a living wage.
