Nissan UK to suspend production due to Japan quake
LONDON — Nissan UK says it will suspend production for three days this month because of supply disruptions caused by the earthquake in Japan.
Nissan said Thursday that its plant in Sunderland in northern England would not be working between April 26 and April 28.
Those dates come between a cluster of holidays, so the plant won't produce any cars between Good Friday, April 22 and May 2, the first of the May bank holidays.
On Wednesday, Honda announced that it would cut production at its U.K. factory by 50 percent from April 11 through the end of May.
