City welcomes new councilmen

Incumbents Mayor A. George Pradel and Councilmen Robert Fieseler and Grant Wehrli Re-elected, Newcomers Are Steve Chirico and Joe McElroy

The City of Naperville is pleased to welcome Steve Chirico and Joe McElroy to the Naperville City Council following the results of the 2011 consolidated general election.

Four open four-year City Council positions and one four-year term for Mayor were up for election. Incumbents Robert Fieseler and Grant Wehrli and newcomers Steve Chirico and Joe McElroy were elected to the open four-year Council seats, and Mayor A. George Pradel was re-elected as Mayor for an unprecedented fifth term. Pradel was first elected in 1995 following almost three decades of service in the Naperville Police Department.

Robert Fieseler has served on the City Council since 2007 and Grant Wehrli has served since 2005. Also serving on the City Council are Councilmen Judith Brodhead, Paul Hinterlong, Douglas Krause and Kenn Miller.

Inauguration of the Mayor and new City Council members will take place at a yet to-be-determined time on Sunday, May 1 in Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
