Wisniewski, Wiley win Bartlett Fire board seats
Incumbent Donald Wisniewski and newcomer Kevin Wiley won the two seats on the Bartlett Fire Protection District board.
Unofficial results showed Wisniewksi beating Martin Wallace by nearly a 2 to 1 ratio for the Cook County seat. Unofficial results, with all 22 precincts in DuPage County and all 20 in Cook County reporting, showed Wisniewksi with 1,491 votes or 63.2 percent, versus Martin’s 869 votes or 36.8 percent.
For the DuPage County seat, those results showed Kevin Wiley with 1,333 votes or 58.4 percent, versus 948 votes or 41.6 percent for Patricia Hanson.
Wiley would replace Art Pierscionek, who decided not to run.
“I wasn’t looking for a major change; I think they’re a professionally run organization,” Wiley said.
Ambulance fees were a major issue for Hanson, who claimed the district charged more than other neighboring departments.
Voters first elected Wisniewski in 2005. He couldn’t be reached on Tuesday night.
Each seat comes with a six-year term. The fire protection district is a separate taxing body from the village.
