Slate of Bartlett, Jarecki, Ridder wins 3 Bensenville board seats

Three candidates running as a slate claimed three seats Tuesday on the Bensenville village board, according to unofficial vote totals.

The slate featured incumbent Morris Bartlett, former Bensenville Park District Director Robert Jarecki and Village Clerk JoEllen Ridder. Ridder received the most votes, with 999, followed by Jarecki with 939 and Bartlett with 880.

“We had a lot of people who were behind us,” Ridder said, adding support for the slate signaled support for changes made under Village President Frank Soto.

Trustee Patricia “Patti” Johnson got the fourth-highest total with 829, but lost the seat she has held since 2007. Trustee John Adamowski, came in fifth with 606 votes and will lose the seat he’s held since 2003. Newcomer Mary Ann Tully got the least votes Tuesday with 587.

Ridder, Jarecki and Bartlett will be sworn in at a meeting May 10 unless a special meeting is scheduled earlier.
