Inverness Women’s Club to host fashion show, luncheon

“Risky Business,” “The Fugitive” and “The Blues Brothers” are a few films that spotlight the unique culture of Chicago. On Friday, April 8, The Women’s Club of Inverness will celebrate its unique style at the annual Fashion Show and Luncheon Benefit titled “Movies With a Flair! Spotlight On Chicago.”

The benefit will be at the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Center in Hoffman Estates from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join the club for a fabulous preview of 2011’s spring fashion collections, luncheon, silent auction and raffle.

Once again, ZZAZZ Productions will showcase cutting-edge trends from retailers and the latest in fashion silhouettes from Chicago’s top designers. Headed by Tracy Tarantino, this professional runway show offers a presentation with cutting-edge sound and lighting design.

The show will feature a collection from York Furriers in Deer Park that includes fur-lined reversible trench coats, among other collections. ZZAZZ Productions has been involved at this event since 2005.

The benefit begins at 9:30 a.m. with raffle baskets, silent auction and boutique shopping, where you will find unique gift items and accessories. Themed baskets include a flat-screen television, a Kindle and the $500 cash basket. The ladies lunch begins at noon, followed by the fashion show. The basket raffle winners and the winner of the Chef Charles gourmet dinner for eight will be announced on the runway. This dinner includes wine for every course and will be served at the Stonegate.

The Women’s Club of Inverness is a philanthropic organization committed to supporting local charities. Last year the club donated more than $35,500 to agencies and community-based organizations. The Palatine Township Adopt-a-Family, Home of the Sparrow and WINGS, along with many others, will benefit from its efforts. This May, the club will award scholarships to graduating seniors and college students residing within the boundaries of school districts 211 and 220.

Reservations are required for the luncheon. For details or ticket information, contact Karen Kallman at (847) 397-8955.
