Golf club sign a driving hazard

The Rolling Knolls Country Club sign at the corner of Rohrssen and Bode roads near Elgin has always been a hazard for traffic coming north toward Bode Road.

It is impossible to see traffic coming east on Bode Road. You have to pull up past the line to see around the sign. Traffic coming west off Rohrssen Road, making a left turn, cuss you out or flip you off because you pulled up too far.

I have seen many accidents and close calls at this corner as I live right there. I realize Rolling Knolls was here long before us, but now they have sold to the forest preserve district. How about it, Schneider family, wouldn’t you like a sign as a lasting memento for all your good years as a country club and golf course? It could save a life.

What this corner needs is a three-way stop sign. This is a very busy intersection and many buses pass through there every day as Hilltop School is right there.
