Writer to lead comics workshop

Daily Herald staff writer Russell Lissau will lead a pair of workshops about making comic books on April 30 at the Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich. Called “Blam! Let’s Make Comics,” the hourlong workshops are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. that day. The courses are open to children who are in the third grade or are older. In addition to writing for the Daily Herald, Lissau has written comic books including “The Batman Strikes,” “Shrek” and the upcoming “Strawberry Shortcake.” To register, visit eapl.org.
