Slate is best for Lake Zurich

The ongoing political developments in the Middle East make us realize how fortunate we are to live in a democracy. Living in a democracy, however, does not ensure responsible representation of our citizens. We must have ethical, mature, and responsible candidates run for office, and we, the people, must elect them.

After evaluating the current candidates for Lake Zurich village trustee and village clerk, I endorse and recommend residents vote to elect LZ VISION. Mark Ernst, Dana Rzeznik and Jenny Talley are candidates for the three Lake Zurich village trustee positions, and Kathleen Johnson is candidate for village clerk.

Mark Ernst has a wide variety of experience including managing his own business, vice president of HR in a large corporation, police officer, and licensed attorney. Dana Rzeznik, a chemical engineer with an MBA from Kellogg/Northwestern, president of the charity Emmaus House, is a water pollution expert with US EPA. Jenny Talley is vice president of operations at New Age Transportation, a multimillion dollar business we are fortunate to have in our Lake Zurich Industrial Park. Jenny also is treasurer of “The Carolyn Gable Expect a Miracle Foundation,” a charitable organization offering assistance to single parents among the “working poor”.

Kathleen Johnson was an early-childhood teacher and director of an early-childhood center for 26 years and served as secretary on several professional boards.

Lake Zurich residents are fortunate to have these talented and willing individuals serve as elected officials. All four candidates are proven business professionals with high standards and ethics who can and will work together to achieve a better future for Lake Zurich.

Please join me in voting for Lake Zurich VISION — Ernst, Rzeznik, Talley and Johnson.

Suzanne K. Branding, village president, Lake Zurich
