Governments don’t create jobs

After reading Ellen Hill’s letter to the editor on March 15, I now know what part of the problem is. She stated “government should focus on issues that matter to every American: “restoring balance to our economy and creating secure, well-paying jobs.” The problem with that statement is government does not create jobs. It has no capital to create jobs. It does not create anything to sell and therefore does not have any money unless it takes it from us through taxes.

Government can only affect the environment for people who create jobs. This administration’s rules and regs are hostile to the current business environment. Our president, who has never been in the private sector, has never created a job or met a payroll. We need people in office who know something about creating a climate for job creation.

Government is not there to ensure balance; it is only there to provide a level playing field. Businesses then survive or fall on their own. Government should not be in the business of picking winners.
