St. Charles East 9, Glenbard North 7: The Saints (3-1) rallied from a 7-4 deficit with a 4-run fifth inning for the victory Thursday in Carol Stream.
St. Charles East had several hitting stars including Jordan Hayes (2-4, run), Luke Rojas (2-for-2, 2 runs), Joe Hoscheit (1-for-2, 2 runs), Tony Rallo (2 RBI) and Johnny Hondlik (2-for-4, 3 RBI).
Hondlik pitched the final four innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run with 4 strikeouts. It was the first loss of the year for Glenbard North (3-1).
Warren 6, St. Charles North 5: The North Stars (3-3) saw their trip to the Miners Classic at Rent One Ballpark come to an end Thursday with a loss to Warren.
Warren scored all its runs in the first two innings. The North Stars chipped away with 2 runs in the first and a single run in the next three innings but couldn’t push across the tying run in the final three innings.
John Munyon led the North Stars’ 8-hit attack with 2 hits. David Gow scored 2 runs and stole 3 bases. Matt Thomas, Munyon, Jake Johansmeier, Andrew Elliot and Derek Backer all drove in runs.
Ryan Jones took the loss.
In their 6-3 win over Cary-Grove Wednesday, Elliot led the offense going 3-for-3 with 2 runs. Johansmeier was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Carl Formento picked up the win in relief.
Aurora Christian 8, East Aurora 1: The Eagles (3-2) jumped to a 6-1 lead through three innings and rolled to the win Thursday.
Josh Haugen (2-for-4, double, RBI, 2 runs), Jake Hanson (2-for-5), Kenny McCracken (2 RBI), Austin Penn (home run) led the offense. McCracken pitched 5 innings for the win allowing 1 run with 7 strikeouts.
Minooka 5, Batavia 4: The Bulldogs fell to 1-1 with a road loss Thursday.
