Prospect Hts. will move forward with Vole at helm
In the two short years since Mayor Vole was elected, I have seen a remarkable and positive change in the our city’s leadership and government.
Mayor Vole walked into a dismal situation, decades in the making — previous administrations’ overspending, underfunding and failing to plan for the future. An economy at its lowest ebb since the Great Depression. City departments being run inefficiently. Yet, her opponent would like us to believe that it’s all her fault and/or that she should have cured all the ills of our city in less than two years’ time.
As alderman, Dolly Vole consistently voted against policies that continued to drive our city into a financial hole. Yet, as a minority voice on the city council, the majority prevailed. As our mayor, unlike any of her predecessors, she has had the fortitude to do what is necessary to put this city on the right path to financial stability.
Since Mayor Vole was elected, no longer does the city stymie requests for information and open dialogue. No longer are boards, commissions and committees filled with individuals of “one like mind” on the issues. No longer are those wishing to express “alternative” opinions rebuked and shut down at council meetings. No longer is our city overspending and proposing initiatives it and the residents cannot afford.
Since losing the last election, Mayor Vole’s opponent and his slate of candidates have mobilized a well orchestrated campaign to criticize, blame and slander her at every turn. Their goal: Return to the “good old boys” style of government. Their methodology: Misinformation and distortions of the truth. Their hope: No one will take the time to check the facts.
Mayor Vole has worked steadfastly to give us an open, responsive and fiscally responsible city government. She has demonstrated the qualities of dedicated, solid leadership. Mayor Vole genuinely deserves our support and a full term in office.
