Cut library taxes, give to police
I attended the candidate forum in Carol Stream on March 24th. During this meeting we were informed that the Carol Stream Police Department agreed to go with no pay increase this year. Yes, they chose their career but why should the people responsible for protecting our safety and enforcing our laws have to go without a raise while at the same time we have the Carol Steam Library not just giving raises but hiring more staff?
Why did the library not wait until after the election to make such important decisions? That’s because the board and the management know that a big change is coming. We have been working on this since the tax proposal was voted down more than once during the last several years and hopefully the voters will continue this direction and support Jeffrey, Jeffrey and DeRango in the upcoming election.
I know they are different taxing bodies but if it were a well-run business we would cut the library taxes and give that to our police department.
