Sidor should have gotten involved with commitees

It is important to support candidates with a positive professional attitude toward the issues, community and fellow board members — individuals with proven leadership through honesty, integrity and the ability to base decisions on unbiased facts, free of undermining criticism. Leaders who understand the importance of volunteerism in whatever capacity they are called.

I am proud to support individuals who have proven ethical leadership and dedication to our community: Carol Blackwood; Tom Hayes; John Scaletta and Bruce Green. Each of these candidates has unselfishly served Arlington Heights for many years in various capacities, prior to being elected or running for office.

They understand volunteerism is a key component to the vitality and success of the community. Through their service they have garnered an excellent understanding of Arlington Heights, the community and its operations, giving them the necessary experience and knowledge to make important decisions for our great village.

(It is) much needed experience Mike Sidor has failed to acquire during his many years of residency. He touts all his experience through recently attended meetings but has no practical government, commission or volunteer involvement or resume.

What has he tangibly done for Arlington Heights other than criticize those who donate hours of their time to continue making our village a great place to live?

After much criticism of the village on environmental and handicapped issues has he ever came forward and asked for or accepted a position on one of those committees, where he could have turned his concerns into a positive proactive outcome?

It is a privilege to serve on a committee whether it is one of your ultimate choices or not. Why has he ignored or shunned obtaining practical experience through participation on a committee or organization? With Mike's lack of volunteerism does he honestly want to serve the community or himself?

We need devoted elected officials with the ability to make educated, unbiased decisions and the adeptness to move issues forward without personal agendas. Carol Blackwood, Tom Hayes, John Scaletta and Bruce Green are just the right individuals to bring all these attributes and experience to our village board.
