Get rid of property taxes for seniors

Homeowners are being scammed out of their property by a deceptive practice known as “reverse mortgages.” Sophisticated commercials featuring retired public officials and movie stars (who are probably paid handsomely) sell this idea to the public.

The answer is not reverse mortgages, but the elimination of real estate taxes starting with seniors and retirees. I have been retired for 10 years and during this period of time have paid approximately $35,000 in real estate taxes and that is with senior exemptions. Eliminate real estate taxes and most seniors would not need a reverse mortgage.

The equity I have in my home is for my children, not the government nor the banks. It is my money and I want it for my children’s’ inheritance. The visionaries who dreamed up this new version of a Ponzi scheme undoubtedly were well rewarded for concocting a devious method of robbing families of their homesteads.

In the not-too-distant future, given the downward spiral America is experiencing, ownership of private property will be just a memory. The return of feudalism is on the horizon.
