Basement fire displaces Lincolnshire resident
A basement fire in Lincolnshire left a home on the 0-99 block of Regent Lane uninhabitable Tuesday night, fire officials said.
The lone resident who was home at the time ran across the street to a neighbor’s house and called 911 about 8:30 p.m., said Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District Lt. Duane Christensen.
The fire started in the basement of the home on the 0-99 block of Regent Lane.
“The first companies in made a quick attack and kept the fire to the basement,” Christensen said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Tuesday night, and a damage estimate was not available.
The displaced resident was staying in an area hotel, Christensen said.
