Music events: Marshall Tucker Band plays Lincolnshire

Celebrating 40 years

The Marshall Tucker Band emerged from South Carolina in the early 1970s and won acclaim for its unique blend of rock, country, blues and jazz. In honor of its 40th anniversary, the band just released a greatest-hits CD, featuring tracks such as “Heard It in a Love Song” and “Can't You See.” The band plays in the suburbs this weekend. 8:15 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire. $27 to $60. Full Throttle, a hard-rock/heavy metal band based in DuPage County, has started focusing on creating original material after playing for several years as a cover band. Tribute to a legend

Miles Davis is one of the giants of jazz history, and his landmark 1970 record “Bitches Brew” continues to stand as one of the greatest achievements of the form. His 40th anniversary band will celebrate the album with a show at Martyrs' — part of a larger Miles Davis Festival running through April with events at jazz clubs throughout the city. 8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Martyrs', 3855 N.
