Man injured after Elgin shooting
A man in his early 20s was treated and released from the hospital after being shot Friday night while standing in front of his house in Elgin, police said Saturday.
Police are investigating the shooting, which took place around midnight in the 500 block of McClure Avenue in Elgin, Elgin police spokeswoman Sue Olafson said. No arrests have been made.
The man was taken to Sherman Hospital. Police are not releasing the name of the victim. They “have no reason to believe it was a drive-by” shooting, Olafson said. Further details weren’t available Saturday.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Elgin police Detective Tom Wolek at (847) 289-2695.
